The Paralegal Formation Training Program (PLT) is an in-depth study to understand concepts and principles relevant to gender-based discrimination, laws and legal remedies available.
The Paralegal Formation Training Program (PLT) is an in-depth study to understand concepts and principles relevant to gender-based discrimination, laws and legal remedies available. The PLT is composed of three modules, the Basic, Advance and Thematic, followed by a series of legal clinic where graduates of the program regularly meet for a continuing learning sessions on updates of relevant laws and issuances and to discuss individual experiences on how they applied their learning.

LAMPARA (Lakas ng Mangagawang Paralegal)

SALIGAN’s paralegal formation program. It was designed to provide labor union leaders and advocates an opportunity to study, analyze, and apply laws pertinent to their situation. Graduates of the program are expected to have the necessary knowledge and skills to act as paralegals in their respective organizations.

Environmental Advocates’ Paralegal Formation Program

The formation introduces the paralegal to the study of environmental law, with emphasis on the role of the paralegal in the community as an advocate for the sustainable environmental protection. The formation also provides the paralegals an overview of environmental and procedural laws, to help them find a solution of the issues and concerns in the community.

Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Paralegal Formation Program

The formation program is designed to empower paralegals on how to address and respond to cases of violence against women (VAW) in their communities. The three-part training includes: (a) Gender Sensitivity Training that focuses on the root causes of unequal treatment experienced by women, and the individual and social values and beliefs surrounding the issue on VAW; (b) discussion of relevant laws passed and implemented as a response to the increasing cases of VAW; (c) Knowledge and skills training in the preparation of basic legal documents, gathering of and preserving evidence, and basic negotiation and advocacy skills.

Housing Rights Paralegal Formation Program

The formation program aims to develop a champion/advocate on housing and tenurial rights from the urban poor/informal sector in the country. It was designed to provide a venue to study urban poor laws and policies and apply them in their situation. A comprehensive discussion of the housing laws and other policies affecting the rights of the sector, mechanisms where they can participate in local governance like the local housing board and the special laws like the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act.

Indigenous Peoples’ Paralegal Formation Program

This program expects to develop a set of community volunteers with paralegal skills and are able to assist members of the indigenous communities regarding their rights as well as the remedies provided by law. Sessions aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of members of the indigenous communities/leaders and IP rights advocates on Indigenous People’s Rights.
