INTERNSHIP PROGRAM NOW ACCEPTS APPLICANTS FOR SUMMER 2013

This internship made me see better the value of law.  I was exposed to how good laws, when applied,  really do make a difference in the lives of many  Jill Te, UP College of Law

Every year, the Sentro ng Alternatibong Lingap Panligal (SALIGAN), provides a venue where selected law students are exposed to alternative lawyering and working with marginalized sectors.  Interns are immersed in communities of farmers, fishers, urban poor, women and workers, and have a chance to witness how people are empowered to use the law.

The interns also see how laws are made through the advocacy activities of SALIGAN in different fora such as Congress.  They also see cases being litigated in representation of the poor and marginalized as well as help in the conduct of legal research on various themes.

This summer of 2013, SALIGAN will once again open its doors to law students who are willing to take part in its internship program to experience alternative lawyering.
